Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or related science preferred.
• Familiarity with sample collection and laboratory protocols.
• Employee must satisfactorily pass PA Sewage Treatment Plant Operator License for the appropriate class within two years of hire date.
• Must possess a valid Pennsylvania State driver’s license.

Aufgaben

• Assists in controlling the wastewater treatment process during routine and emergency conditions.
• Prepares chemical batches and operates chemical feed equipment per process control orders.
• Maintains adequate chemical supplies to continuously treat wastewater and sludge per standards.
• Assists in maintaining and installing automatic sampling equipment.
• Collects wastewater samples and performs routine lab tests, maintains log sheets.
• Operates mechanical and electrical equipment used in treatment processes.
• Performs inspections of the facility and reports equipment interruptions or failures.
• Ensures safety instruments/equipment are maintained and stored properly.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Follows safety practices in operation of equipment.
• May assist with snow and ice removal.
