Job summary

The City of Maypearl invites applications for a non-supervisory Wastewater Plant Operator. Under general supervision, you will operate, monitor, and maintain the wastewater treatment facility to ensure safe, compliant production, storage, and distribution.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least two years of water/wastewater treatment experience, the ability to pass background checks and drug screening, and obtainable certifications (CEQ Grade C or TCEQ Grade C within 12

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in Water and Wastewater Treatment.
• Pass background, physical evaluation and drug screening.
• CEQ Grade C or TCEQ Grade C within 12 months, or ability to obtain.
• Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within six months.
• Herbicides/pesticides license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Check chemical levels at regular intervals.
• Run routine laboratory tests to determine proper chemical treatment.
• Collect water samples.
• Inspect and repair plant equipment and report defects.
• Maintain plant records and safety compliance.
• Assist with reports to State and Federal agencies.
• Respond to emergency calls and on-call duties.
• Operate and maintain light to heavy equipment as assigned.
