The City of Port Arthur is seeking a skilled operator for its water purification and wastewater treatment facilities. The role includes monitoring gauges, operating pumps, and performing routine maintenance to ensure safe and compliant plant operations.

Qualified candidates will have at least a high school diploma or GED, one year of related experience, and a Grade C+ wastewater certification with CDL eligibility. This full-time position supports the Utility Operations department.

Formación

• Must have completed the twelfth grade and possess a high school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience performing maintenance and routine operation duties in a water purification or wastewater treatment plant.
• Possession of Grade C or higher wastewater or surface water treatment certificate of competency issued by the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission; CDL required or ability to obtain.

Responsabilidades

• Operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of wastewater, sludge and effluent; monitor plant functions and perform chemical tests.
• Operate valves, gates, pumps, motors and generators; perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Make daily rounds and collect water/wastewater samples; maintain logs and compile reports.
