Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District seeks a Wastewater Plant Operator II to manage operation, maintenance, and monitoring of wastewater facilities and SCADA systems. You will ensure asset condition, water quality, and safety compliance while supporting facility teams.

The role requires a strong background in wastewater treatment, knowledge of SCADA, and a valid Texas license. This is a hands-on position with varied shifts and opportunities for professional growth within NTMWD.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree or trade certification preferred.
• Minimum two years of wastewater treatment experience.
• Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Class C Wastewater Operator’s License.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Basic computer, electrical and mechanical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and adjust facility operations using observation, samples, instrumentation and SCADA.
• Promote integrity, trust, respect, unity, safety and teamwork.
• Notify and coordinate repairs with maintenance personnel; plan and implement maintenance procedures.
• Maintain logs and records; suggest efficiency improvements.
• Observe safety policies and environmental guidelines.
• Respond to emergencies and planned shutdowns; troubleshoot issues.
• Perform housekeeping and grounds maintenance; handle shipments and documentation.
