Job summary

Taylor Public Works is seeking a Wastewater Plant Operator I to operate and maintain the city’s wastewater treatment plant in a safe, efficient manner. This non-supervisory role requires on-call availability, weekend/holiday work, and ability to work outside standard hours.

The operator will perform daily lab tests, calibrate instruments, monitor gauges, and prepare routine reports. A high school diploma and a valid Texas license are required, with opportunities to obtain state certifications.

Qualifications

• High school graduate, or its equivalent.
• Some knowledge of water and wastewater operations.
• TCEQ D License in wastewater treatment, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire date.
• Valid Class C Texas driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conducts daily chemical and lab tests, records data at regular intervals.
• Calibrates lab equipment daily.
• Monitors equipment and records readings; performs adjustments.
• Cleans and maintains plant equipment and facilities.
• Collects samples for analysis.
