Job summary

Narragansett Bay Commission is seeking an Operator I for the Bucklin Point WWTF in East Providence. The role supports plant operations during a night shift, handling readings, equipment operation, and incident response to maintain safe, compliant operations.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, OIT Grade I certification within one year, and a valid driver's license. Pre-employment physical and drug screen will follow a conditional offer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Operator-in-Training (OIT) Grade I certification within one year.
• Valid driver's license at time of hire.
• Pre-placement physical and drug screen after conditional offer.

Responsibilities

• Take and record readings of plant equipment (temp, pressure, vacuum).
• Operate pumps, valves, gates, and switches to run plant equipment.
• Respond to alarms and address issues per procedures or supervisor directions.
• Clean equipment and facilities; maintain a safe work environment.
• Operate forklifts and other machinery as needed.
• Collect samples, perform tests, and report abnormal readings.
• Assist others with maintenance, repairs, and installations.
• Receive hazardous materials and complete paperwork.
• Drive facility vehicle as required.
