Job summary

Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is seeking candidates for Operator Training Program entry to learn and operate wastewater treatment processes. The role supports routine testing, data recording, and equipment monitoring across plant and pump stations.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED; EPA Class II certification and 24 months of plant experience is a plus. The district supports 12-hour shift rotations and safety-driven procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Milestone 1: no prior experience required; OTP entry.
• Milestone 3: Ohio EPA Class II certificate and 24 months experience.
• Ability to complete proficiency tests in reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
• Ability to interpret data and make sound judgments.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment units, manually or via control systems.
• Record operating data and maintain logs.
• Inspect equipment and determine operating efficiency.
• Interpret gauges and adjust controls to meet objectives.
• Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout.
