Job summary

PurposeEnergy seeks a Wastewater Operator for on-site digester facilities in Ohio. You will monitor and troubleshoot plant systems to ensure treated effluent quality, working closely with plant operators, vendors, and management.

Ideal candidates hold a Grade II Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator certificate (or higher) and have experience with pumps, piping, PLCs, CMMS, and teamwork. This is a full-time role with a comprehensive benefits package and a $30–$50 per hour compensation range.

Qualifications

• Current Grade II Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator certificate (or higher) preferred.
• Three years of relevant experience as an operator in RNG, construction, or industrial maintenance.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems; ability to assist with pumps, piping, and motors.
• Experience with PLCs, controls, and instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, pH).
• Basic computer skills: spreadsheets, email, PDFs, and timesheets.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant performance: hydraulics, temperatures, pH, COD, VFA, pressures, and renewable energy production.
• Conduct compliance audits, safety inspections, and routine reporting; upload results as required.
• Optimize facility throughput: feedstock volume, effluent volume, and renewable energy production.
• Manage consumables inventory using CMMS; ensure parts availability.
• Oversee biological processes, feedstock receiving, pumping, chemical feed systems, filtration, and biogas utilization.
• Ensure compliance with wastewater, air quality, and solid waste permits.
• Maintain an active Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator License and continuing education.
