Job summary

Our Community's Children in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Wastewater Operations and Maintenance Supervisor to oversee plant operations and maintenance teams, address citizen sewer and drainage concerns, and coordinate emergency repair crews.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least six years in operations/maintenance with supervisory experience, and MD EGLE License Class B or C with ability to obtain B within a year.

Qualifications

• High School diploma (or GED equivalent).
• Six (6) years of experience in operations, maintenance, and/or repair work, especially related to plant operations, including supervisory experience.
• State of Michigan EGLE Wastewater Treatment Operator Class B license, or Class C with ability to obtain Class B within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises assigned personnel, including hiring, training, discipline, performance evaluations, and training of new employees.
• Directs operation and maintenance of wastewater processes (treatment, clarification, disinfection, solids processing, digestion, phosphorus recovery, cogeneration).
• Maintains safety through SOPs, preventive maintenance, and oversight of plant systems.
• Maintains inventory, researches and orders parts, manages contracts and procurement.
