Job summary

The City of Grand Rapids is seeking a supervisory professional to oversee multiple utility crews responsible for water distribution, customer metering, and sewer systems. You will report to a designated superintendent and ensure safe, compliant operations.

Candidates should have a strong background in public works, at least six years of related experience (including supervisory), and relevant licenses/certifications. This is a full-time on-site position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least six years of related work experience, including three years of supervisory experience in public works, water distribution, or metering.
• Equivalent combinations of training and experience may apply.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise, and evaluate subordinates; provide training and counseling as needed.
• Supervise crews maintaining water and sewer lines and customer metering; respond to service emergencies.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards; comply with regulations.
