Job summary

The City of Clermont is seeking a skilled maintenance worker to support lift stations and wastewater infrastructure. You will perform repairs, run heavy equipment, and often work outdoors under general supervision.

This non-exempt role requires a high school diploma and may require multiple licenses and certifications. Candidates should be able to pass safety training, work rotating shifts, and respond to emergency call-outs as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• No experience required; preferred some wastewater field experience or heavy manual labor.
• Class C Collection certification or obtain within two years.
• Prefer confined space entry certification.
• Prefer Trenching and Excavation certification.
• Obtain Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements within 180 days.
• Obtain FEMA IS100 and IS700 within six months.
• Valid Florida Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Disconnects and reconnects utilities; troubleshoot leaks.
• Maintenance on lift station infrastructure: pumps, pipes, electrical panels; check wet wells; landscape maintenance; building upkeep.
• Install and repair sewers, reuse mains; maintain lines and manholes.
• Operate heavy and light equipment; run generators; troubleshoot wastewater equipment.
