Job summary

The City of Tacoma is seeking a Maintenance Worker to assist in the repair and maintenance of wastewater treatment and conveyance equipment and facilities. You will help repair pumps and motors, inspect equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and operate a range of hand and power tools in indoor and outdoor environments.

Responsibilities include maintaining electronic records, driving between sites, and adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of experience in maintenance, construction, equipment operation or general manual labor.
• Proven ability to work in indoor/outdoor environments and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Assist in removing, repairing, rebuilding pumps and motors.
• Assist inspecting and replacing flights in sediment tanks and servicing equipment.
• Inspect safety and first aid equipment and maintain records.
• Operate hand and power tools and machinery as directed.
• Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, filter checks, battery checks and general cleaning.
