Job summary

The City of Manvel seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform skilled mechanical, electrical, and maintenance work ensuring reliable wastewater treatment plant operations. You will troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, piping, and process equipment, and support lift stations and related infrastructure.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with 2–5 years in mechanical or industrial maintenance; safety training and ability to read manuals are essential. On-call rotation is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational/technical cert preferred.
• 2–5 years in mechanical or industrial maintenance; wastewater or utilities experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pumps, electrical controls, and industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, blowers, motors, gearboxes, valves, compressors, generators, and other plant machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems; perform repairs.
• Maintain and repair lift station equipment, including pumps and piping.
• Install and align new equipment as directed.
• Inspect equipment and systems for wear, leaks, failures or performance issues.
• Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout, confined spaces entry, PPE requirements.
• Assist with inventory of tools, supplies, parts, and replacement components.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergencies outside regular hours.
