Job summary

Waste Resource Management (WRM) is seeking an entry-level Wastewater Plant Apprentice in Smyrna, GA. You will assist in operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment processes and help ensure environmental compliance.

This role offers an entry path into environmental services with on-the-job training, competitive hourly pay, and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, PTO, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; and a minimum of 1-2 years of field work experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to learning.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of treatment equipment, pumps, and tanks.
• Monitor valves, screeners, and cake disposal.
• Restock and change out chemical totes and other chemicals.
• Respond to emergencies, such as equipment failures, power outages, or chemical spills, to minimize environmental impact and ensure continued operation.
• Coordinate the Drivers and unload the tankers efficiently.
• Work with other technicians, drivers, and supervisors as needed
• Communicate effectively with team members and report any issues or abnormalities.
• Train new employees and share knowledge with team members.
• Other duties as assigned.
