Job Overview
The General Manager, under the leadership of the VP of Operations, is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of all market functions, including trucking, wastewater processing, composting, and railyard operations. This role oversees the full operational lifecycle—from sales, administration, project management, service delivery, plant processing, and cross-functional coordination. The General Manager leads a team of operations managers, sales, compliance, project managers, maintenance, and administrative support staff, ensuring alignment with company goals and exceeding annual performance expectations through collaboration with accounting, human resources, safety, information technology, and sales and marketing.

Essential Functions:
- Lead and manage all operational and sales functions across trucking, wastewater treatment, composting, and railyard logistics.
- Optimizing the deployment of human, financial, and asset resources, ensuring adequate capacity and utilization to meet current and future demands.
- Developing and articulating the overall strategic direction for the business, aligning it with market opportunities and organizational capabilities
- Developing and retaining a high-performing workforce. This involves fostering a positive work environment, promoting professional growth, and ensuring effective team collaboration.
- Establishing and continuously improving operational processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency, quality, and predictability in the market.
- Leading and managing organizational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption of new strategies, processes, or technologies within the market.
- Ensuring that all business activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, environmental, industry standards, and ethical guidelines
- Managing the company's fleet of vehicles, equipment, and other assets, ensuring their optimal utilization, maintenance, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with all cross-functional groups such as human resources, safety, information technology, accounting and finance, sales and marketing to ensure seamless operational performance.
- Cultivate a high-performance, result-driven culture by empowering team members at all levels to take ownership, make decisions, and drive outcomes. Foster an environment of trust, accountability, and continuous learning to encourage innovation, collaboration, and personal growth.

- Ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.
- Champion a proactive safety culture across all operational sites, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and company policies.
- Analyze safety data and incident reports to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by proactively identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing innovative solutions.
- Demonstrate a strong bias for action by addressing complex challenges with urgency, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance performance, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing the administrative support function along with the operations management team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
- 5–7 years of experience in operations leadership, preferably in environmental services, environmental construction/drilling, or other project-based business, or industrial logistics.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-site operations and cross-functional teams.
- Strong financial acumen with 3-5 years of P&L responsibility.
- Familiarity with safety management systems and IT infrastructure in operational settings.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
