Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking a Wastewater Lab Technician to perform analytical testing of water and wastewater samples, including sample preparation, analysis, and QA/QC adherence.

You will operate, maintain, and calibrate lab instruments, apply chemistry, biology, microbiology and mathematics principles, and support other lab areas while contributing to accreditation and safety programs.

Qualifications

• State of Oklahoma Class C Laboratory Operator or reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
• 1–3 years of experience in an analytical or environmental laboratory performing physical, chemical and biological analyses.
• Valid Driver’s License with no major infractions.
• Must be familiar with EPA and Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater methods.
• Must understand and follow the quality control requirements of regulatory agencies (Mississippi).
• Ability to scrutinize analytical data and present information clearly in reports.
• Must be able to prepare chemical solutions and perform standard calculations.
• Familiar with Windows OS, MS Office, and a Laboratory Management System (LIMS).
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical, bacteriological and physical lab tests for water/wastewater.
• Prepare analytical standard solutions and reagents.
• Review and follow standardized procedures and methods.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot lab instrumentation.
• Assist other lab areas and participate in QA/QC programs.
• Participate in training of operations personnel on equipment and techniques.
• Support safety programs and maintain accreditation.
