Job summary

The City of Largo is seeking a Wastewater Collection Technician to perform a range of skilled to semi-skilled tasks in the sanitary sewer system. You will work under a Utilities Supervisor and a Wastewater Field Technician, operating trucks and equipment, installing and repairing pipelines, and maintaining accurate CMMS records.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma (GED accepted), CDL Class B with Tanker, FWPCOA C certification, and CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED; CDL B with Tanker within 6 months; FWPCOA C certification within 2 years; CPR/First Aid within 6 months; additional FEMA/ICS/Confined Space training within 1 year.
• Knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures for wastewater systems; ability to operate wastewater repair equipment; ability to read blueprints and as-built drawings; ability to work flexible hours including callouts.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor in hot and humid conditions; strong collaboration and safety awareness; ability to follow SOPs and maintain records in CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Operates light to heavy-duty trucks and equipment including backhoe and mini-excavator.
• Install and repair gravity and force main pipelines and related fittings.
• Enter data into CMMS; create work orders and track tasks; assist with MOT setup.
• Follow SOPs for Sanitary Sewer Overflow procedures and safety standards.
