Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Wastewater Area Practice Leader for the Central Area (Colorado, Utah, Texas). This role shapes the wastewater practice strategy, leads business development, and drives client success across the region.

Responsibilities include setting priorities, building high-performing teams, and aligning practice goals with national priorities. A remote setup is allowed if located in CO, UT, or TX.

Qualifications

• Typically, 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in environmental consulting, engineering, or related fields.
• Experience in annual business planning, strategy development, workforce planning, staffing, revenue forecasting, and implementation.
• Experience developing and executing practice, market, or technical growth strategies with measurable outcomes.
• Experience building and leading high-performing teams with coaching and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Align practice outcomes with Area Leaders and Market Sector Directors, quarterly.
• Lead development and execution of strategic growth plans with measurable outcomes.
• Communicate practice strategy to Client Service Teams and stakeholders.
• Win new work as Sales Leader or Technical Seller.
• Provide technical leadership across the practice portfolio and client engagements.
• Build and lead a high-performing team with clear expectations and resource planning.
• Oversee staffing, revenue expectations, and utilization across the portfolio.
• Engage leadership to align market trends, R&D, and client needs.
• Collaborate with SMEs and delivery leaders to integrate capabilities.
• Support workload planning and compliance with policies and regulations.
• Adapt to evolving needs with additional assignments.
