Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Wastewater Area Practice Leader for the Central Area to shape strategy for Colorado, Utah, and Texas. You will steer business development, staffing, and innovation while aligning with national priorities to deliver high-value wastewater solutions.

You will lead technical delivery, grow the practice, and build a strong, high-performing team across the region. A strong background in leadership, project oversight, and client-focused delivery is required.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in leadership roles within environmental engineering or related fields.
• Experience in environmental consulting, engineering, construction and operations.
• Experience in annual business planning, strategy development, workforce planning, staffing, revenue forecasting.
• Experience developing and executing growth strategies with measurable outcomes.
• Experience building and leading high-performing teams with coaching and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead strategic growth plans for the Practice within the Area.
• Align priorities with Area Leaders, Market Sector Directors, CSTs, and research.
• Win new work as Sales Leader or Technical Seller to grow the practice.
• Provide technical leadership across wastewater portfolios and client engagements.
• Build and lead a high-performing team with clear expectations and accountability.
• Manage staffing, revenue expectations, and resource allocation across the portfolio.
• Engage leadership to integrate BC capabilities with client needs and market trends.
• Ensure workload planning, performance management, and policy compliance.
