Job summary

City of Memphis is seeking a field-maintenance worker responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery, park equipment, carts, and related facilities across multiple divisions in Memphis, TN. You may operate forklifts, use power tools, and drive various service vehicles during daily tasks.

The role requires reading and following instructions, a valid CDL (or F endorsement if in Solid Waste), and basic electrical/plumbing knowledge.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write and understand written and verbal instructions.
• If assigned to Solid Waste division must possess and maintain a valid driver license with an F endorsement as a condition of continued employment.
• If assigned to a division other than Solid Waste must possess and maintain a valid Class "B" Tennessee (or equivalent out-of-state) Commercial Driver License and must comply with Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) Alcohol and Drug testing rules as a condition of continued employment.
• Knowledge of geographic area of Memphis preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing equipment preferred.
