Job summary

Kroger Co. in Memphis, TN is seeking a maintenance technician to service and repair equipment, buildings, and fixtures in the distribution center. You will maintain lift trucks, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure all tasks align with company policies and safety standards.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, experience in building maintenance, and the ability to work flexible shifts in a fast-paced distribution environment. Training on company-specific equipment is provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate with customers and employees.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages and ratios to practical tasks.
• Familiarity with distribution center terms and processes.
• High school or GED plus relevant maintenance/repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair plumbing.
• Maintain ventilation systems.
• Install, repair and replace racking.
• Maintain shipping/receiving dock equipment.
• Inspect and evaluate roof structure.
• Weld, cut, and repair aluminum and steel structures.
• Repair hydraulic systems, air compressors, fire systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on lift trucks.
• Repair other equipment as needed.
• Maintain battery chargers and batteries.
