Job summary

City of Memphis seeks a skilled Equipment Operator to drive tandem axle trucks and other assigned equipment, transporting sand, debris, and vegetation. You will work under supervision, perform routine maintenance, and assist with street cleaning tasks as needed.

A valid Class B CDL is required, along with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and knowledge of Memphis area preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid Class B Tennessee (or equivalent out-of-state) CDL.
• Ability to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate tandem axle trucks and other equipment to transport and dump materials.
• Set up barricades and reset inlet grates as required.
• Perform routine maintenance such as fueling, lubrication, and cleaning.
• Repair drainage structures and perform ditch maintenance.
• Load/unload materials and assist with traffic control when needed.
