Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is hiring a Helper to support drivers on residential and commercial routes. You will load and unload containers, assist with backing maneuvers, and maintain safe operations in all weather.

The role requires lifting 50 lbs repeatedly, strong customer service, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting. A pre-employment drug screen is required and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• Drug screen required before employment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Loads and empties residential and/or commercial containers into truck.
• Maneuvers containers at curbside, dockside, carryout, or pullouts to complete service.
• Operates hoisting device to lift and empty bins into the truck hopper.
• Places serviced bins back in original positions with covers on.
• Assists driver with backing maneuvers on route.
• Lifts trash and recycling into a rear load truck in varying conditions.
• Lifts 50 pounds constantly throughout the day.
• Maintains a safe working environment at all times.
• Works in a fast-paced, ever-changing industry.
• Communicates professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Participates in training to expand knowledge of company, products, services.
