Job summary

Waste Pro is seeking a Helper to assist the refuse truck driver on pre-assigned routes to pick up garbage, yard waste, or recycling. The role emphasizes safe, courteous service and efficient operation.

You will lift and load containers, operate the packer, back up the truck under supervision, and help maintain clean equipment and work sites. Physical endurance and teamwork are essential for daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Picks up solid waste and places it in the back of a rear load garbage truck on specified routes.
• Lifts and carries trash bags, bulk items and containers to the truck for disposal.
• Operates packing mechanism to compact waste into the truck.
• Provides courteous customer service to residents and adheres to safety policies.
• Assists driver in backing up the truck from the ground.
• Cleans hopper and truck at end of shift.
• Reports safety or customer issues to driver or supervisor.
• May be required to work during emergency situations.
