Job summary

Waste Pro is seeking a Helper to assist the refuse truck driver on pre-assigned and special routes to pick up garbage, yard waste, or recycling. The role emphasizes safe, efficient service and teamwork on residential routes in Florida.

You will load and compact waste, assist with backing up the truck, and respond to resident questions while adhering to safety policies and company standards. This entry-level position requires physical endurance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Physically able to push or pull independently (unassisted) 50 pounds 800–1000 times daily.
• Physically able to lift independently (unassisted) 50 pounds from the ground to waist height 800–1000 times daily.
• Able to climb on/off the rear truck step and operate the packing mechanism.
• Willing to work overtime or during emergencies as required.

Responsibilities

• Picks up solid waste and places it in the back of a rear-load garbage truck on specified routes.
• Provides courteous customer service and supports municipal goals.
• Ensures garbage and recyclables are picked up and transferred properly at residences.
• Assists driver in backing up the truck safely from the ground.
• Cleans the hopper and truck, and reports safety or customer issues promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
