Job summary

Waste Pro USA Inc. is seeking a Helper to assist the refuse truck driver on pre-assigned and special routes, collecting garbage, yard waste, or recycling. The role requires lifting, manual handling, and safe operation of loading equipment with emphasis on courteous service to residents.

This position emphasizes teamwork, safety adherence to ANSI/OSHA guidelines, and daily interaction with residents while supporting drivers on various routes and during emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Picks up solid waste and places it in the back of a rear load garbage truck on specified routes.
• Loads and unloads trash, bulk items, and containers; operates loading mechanisms.
• Maintains courteous and efficient service for residents and customers.
• Answers questions and directs residents to Customer Service or government offices for more information.
• Complies with ANSI, OSHA, and Waste Pro safety policies.
• Assists Driver in backing up the truck safely from the ground.
• Cleans the area behind the compactor blade and the hopper at shift end or as needed.
• Reports safety or customer service issues to driver or supervisor immediately.
• Performs cleanup of scattered refuse and ensures containers are returned.
