Job summary

GFL Environmental, Inc. seeks a Swing Driver in Michigan to safely operate Front End, Roll Off, Residential and other trucks, delivering solid waste or recyclables to landfills, MRFs or transfer stations on assigned routes.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, daily reports, issue communication, record-keeping, and managing helpers as needed while upholding safety standards and company policies. A valid CDL and HS diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Ability to safely drive trucks and operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate one or more vehicle types on collection routes; route may vary daily.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and reports daily.
• Report mechanical problems to supervisor immediately.
• Maintain clean vehicle interiors and exteriors.
• Manage assigned Helper(s) if applicable.
• Follow safety standards and company policies at all times.
• Record services performed accurately and on time.
• Perform extra or special pick-ups as needed.
• Attend safety and branch meetings; participate in training.
