Job summary

Reworld Projects, LLC in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking a Processing Technician to collect and process material from client facilities. You will operate forklifts, balers, and compactors, and ensure clean, organized work areas while following vendor specs.

The role requires strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work long shifts with punctual start times. Training for forklift certification is provided.

Qualifications

• Shipping/receiving industry experience preferred.
• HS diploma or GED preferred; Reworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.
• Forklift Experience
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to become forklift certified through internal coaching
• Ability to work long shifts and to be punctual for your assigned start time

About the role

The Processing Technician is responsible for the collection and processing of material from their client’s facility. The Processing Tech takes their direction from the Supervisor or Manager when applicable. The Processing Tech will utilize various forms of machinery to perform their everyday tasks, including forklifts, compactors, and balers.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as fork trucks, balers, compactors, etc.
• Process waste materials into like commodities or in accordance with vendor specifications
• General housekeeping. Sweeping, washing and other maintenance of the area(s)

Reworld is responsible for

• Loading/Unloading of van trailers and/or flat beds
• Managing collection points within a client’s facility
• Interact with plant personnel to determine needs of the local areas

Qualifications/Skills

Physical Demands of the Role

• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb

The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.

The pay range for the primary location of this position is: 18.65 - 24.86 USD per hour
