Job summary

Reworld Projects, LLC is hiring an entry-level Waste Process Technician I in Avon Lake, OH. You will safely move materials, off-load inbound trucks, and process waste through shredding and solidification steps with a focus on accuracy and safety.

You’ll use handheld scanners to track inventory and must meet basic safety and OSHA standards. Strong attention to detail and reliable teamwork are essential for daily duties and reporting.

Qualifications

• Able to operate basic waste processing equipment and use inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Move or off-load inbound trucks and verify container counts.
• Process material through shredding and solidification steps as directed.

• Perform routine facility cleaning and assist with disposal planning.

About the role

The Waste Process Technician I is an entry level position responsible to safely perform the following fundamental tasks including but not limited to moving or off-loading inbound trucks, verify container count, loading into solidification pit, processing of material through shredding operations, assign inventory numbers and other relevant data needed for waste processing. The Waste Processing Technician I is expected to have a general mechanical understanding of waste processing equipment.

Position Responsibilities

Understand basic facility permit requirements and conduct daily activities to support all safety and compliance requirements. Operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, and other power tools in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA requirements. Ability to move, operate, and back in a yard dog tractor. Administratively process inbound material / inventory using inventory tracking software and handheld scanners. Able to off load inbound packages, liquid trucks, and containers. De-pack materials from original manufacturers packaging and sorting contents for disposal according to disposal plan. General cleaning of facility and grounds. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age. Must have a Valid Driver's License Must exercise good judgement and problem-solving skills. Demonstrate attention to detail and time management. Must be computer proficient and able to operate with Microsoft Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Possess 8-hour DOT Certification Training (Or ability to complete). Possess 10-hour OSHA Training (Or ability to complete). Possess 8-hour HAZWOPER Training (Or ability to complete).

Physical Demands of the Role

Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb for potentially extended periods of time. Ability to lift/carry 50lbs. Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces. Ability to operate forklifts and other power tools. Qualify to wear a full-face respirator. Consistently work in various weather conditions.

Pay Transparency

Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future. The pay range for the primary location of this position is: 17.12 - 22.74 USD per hour
