Job summary

Voltava is seeking a Warranty Specialist to coordinate warranty activities across OEMs, internal quality, operations, SQE, and engineering. You will drive rapid problem isolation, containment, and resolution while ensuring accurate documentation and timely escalation.

Responsibilities include reviewing warranty data, on-site reviews with OEMs, 8D-type problem solving, containment actions, and communicating updates to leadership.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in automotive quality, warranty, manufacturing, supplier quality, or customer quality environments.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced manufacturing and customer environments.

  • Assist with problem identification and containment using 8D or similar formats.
  • Ensure identification, labeling, and traceability of returned warranty parts.
  • Coordinate distribution of failed parts to QA, SQE, Product/Manufacturing Eng.
  • Track resolution activities, containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Escalate safety or high-impact field issues to leadership as needed.
  • Attend customer/OEM meetings to provide updates on investigations and status.

About the Role:

The Quality Warranty Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating warranty-related activities as the key liaison between OEM customers, internal quality teams, manufacturing operations, supplier quality, and engineering departments, by assisting in rapid problem identification, containment, investigation, and resolution of warranty and field quality concerns while ensuring accurate documentation, communication, and escalation management.

What You Will Do:
  • Coordinate and manage warranty claims from OEM customers
  • Perform on-site warranty claim and failed part reviews with OEM/customer representatives
  • Review customer-submitted warranty data, photos, claim information
  • Conduct, in conjunction with designated Quality Engineers/Quality Manager, initial problem/error state assessments of failed warranty components and field issues
    • Determine whether failures are attributable to:
    • Supplier quality issues
    • Internal manufacturing or assembly defects
    • OEM/dealership handling or assembly plant concerns
    • Customer abuse, misuse, or environmental conditions
  • Assist quality engineers in containment activities, identifying failure trends and risk assessment and document via 8D or similar customer required format
  • Ensure proper identification, labeling, documentation, and traceability of returned warranty parts
  • Coordinate distribution of failed parts to the appropriate:
    • Quality department
    • Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE)
    • Product Engineering
    • Manufacturing Engineering
    • Laboratory or testing facility
  • Track warranty concern resolution activities with cross-functional teams, track for timely containment implementation, root cause analysis and permanent corrective action implementation
  • Ensure warranty clean points and issue closure documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to implement lessons learned & read across programs and facilities.
  • Attend customer and OEM meetings to provide updates on warranty investigations, containment actions, and corrective action status.
  • Maintain professional customer relationships while supporting timely issue resolution.
  • Communicate significant warranty concerns, field issues, and emerging trends to leadership teams.
  • Escalate potential safety, regulatory, or high-impact field issues appropriately.
What You Need To Be Successful:
  • Knowledge of automotive quality systems and standards including:
    • IATF 16949
    • ISO 9001
  • Experience working with OEM customers and dealership warranty processes preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced manufacturing and customer environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT, Power-BI), warranty databases, and quality reporting systems.
