You’ll work closely with customers, suppliers, Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure components are delivered on time, at the right cost, and to the required quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an automotive purchasing professional to take ownership of supplier relationships and play a key role in successful vehicle programs and product launches.

What You Will Do

  • Manage purchase orders, pricing, tooling orders, supplier agreements, and purchasing records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with customers and suppliers to maintain approved pricing, sourcing direction, commercial terms, and program requirements.
  • Review supplier quotations and pricing to identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for resolution.
  • Support new product launches by tracking supplier timing, tooling, capacity, part readiness, validation, PPAP, and production requirements.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities related to engineering changes, including supplier communication, quotations, pricing, tooling, timing, and PO updates.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal teams to resolve pricing, invoicing, delivery, receiving, quantity, and other commercial issues.
  • Monitor supplier and program risks and elevate issues that could impact cost, quality, delivery, or launch timing.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data and documentation within ERP and purchasing systems.
  • Track and report pricing changes, open commercial issues, supplier performance, and program status.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Support purchasing initiatives that improve cost, efficiency, supplier performance, and overall business results.
What You Need To Be Successful
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive purchasing, supply chain, supplier management, or a related field.
  • Experience with purchase orders, supplier pricing, commercial documentation, and ERP systems.
  • Experience supporting automotive production programs, launches, or engineering changes.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing, supplier management, and automotive manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and make sound, fact-based decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accountability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Bonus Points If You Have
  • 5+ years of automotive direct-material purchasing experience.
  • Experience with customer-directed-buy suppliers.
  • Experience with Chassis & Suspension, Brake Systems, Powertrain, Steering Systems, or Tire & Wheel commodities.
  • Experience with engineering changes, tooling, pricing changes, commercial recoveries, or supplier claims.
  • Experience supporting safety-critical or highly engineered automotive components.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, IATF 16949, AIAG, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Experience with RFQs, quotation analysis, strategic sourcing, or supplier negotiations.
  • CPSM, CPM, CSCP, or other purchasing/supply chain certification.
Education
