Job summary

EControls in San Antonio, TX seeks a Warranty Technician to perform failure analysis on returned electronic products and identify root causes. You will troubleshoot circuit boards, document findings, and write customer reports, supporting corrective actions with the Quality and Engineering teams.

Ideal candidates have an Associate's degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent, 2–5 years of experience with blueprints, schematics, and testing electro-mechanical units, and strong soldering

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions.
• 2 to 5 years of experience testing electro-mechanical units using standard test equipment.
• Excellent soldering techniques with both through-hole and surface-mount technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret technical data; work from moderately complex blueprints and instructions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis of warranty return electronic products to identify system failures.
• Troubleshoot circuit boards and write reports for customer.
• Identify ways to test customer reported issue and document the procedures.
• Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronics components, using hand tools or soldering iron.
• Assist quality and engineers in providing customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on product use as necessary.
• Communicate findings to the Quality team and assist in the development of corrective actions to prevent reoccurring failures.
