Job summary

EControls in San Antonio, TX seeks a Warranty Technician to perform failure analysis on returned electronic products and identify root causes. You will troubleshoot circuit boards, document findings, and write customer reports, supporting corrective actions with the Quality and Engineering teams.

Ideal candidates have an Associate's degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent, 2–5 years of experience with blueprints, schematics, and testing electro-mechanical units, and strong soldering

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions.
• 2 to 5 years of experience testing electro-mechanical units using standard test equipment.
• Excellent soldering techniques with both through-hole and surface-mount technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret technical data; work from moderately complex blueprints and instructions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis of warranty return electronic products to identify system failures.

• Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronics components, using hand tools or soldering iron.

• Communicate findings to the Quality team and assist in the development of corrective actions to prevent reoccurring failures.

The Warranty Technician is responsible for performing failure analysis on returned electronic products to identify root causes and system failures. This role troubleshoots circuit boards, documents findings, and collaborates with quality and engineering teams to support corrective action initiatives and customer communication. The position requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, proficiency in reading schematics and technical documentation, and experience working with electronic test equipment.
