Job summary

Stivers-Automotive-Group in Columbia, SC is seeking an Assistant Warranty Clerk to support the service department by ensuring warranty repair orders and documentation meet manufacturer policies and guidelines and to assist with submissions. This role also functions as an accounting clerk handling parts receivables, payables posting, data entry, scanning, and filing.

You will collaborate with service advisors, technicians, and management to improve documentation quality.

Responsibilities

• Review all warranty repair orders for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with manufacturer warranty policies
• Verify proper documentation including technician stories, causal parts, labor operations, and supporting details
• Ensure all warranty paperwork meets audit and policy standards prior to submission
• Identify and correct discrepancies, missing information, or non-compliant claims
• Work closely with service advisors, technicians, and management to improve documentation quality
• Maintain organized and audit-ready warranty files (digital and/or physical)
• Track and report trends, errors, and opportunities for process improvement
• Assist in internal warranty audits and compliance checks
• Stay current on warranty policies, bulletins, and updates
• Handle all parts receivable payments
• Scan all repair orders and parts tickets into the WebDocs system
