Job summary

Opti Staffing partners with a Salem, Oregon mental health practice to recruit an Intake Assistant. You will be the first point of contact for clients, handling screenings, intake forms, and coordinating with therapists and staff in a warm, organized environment.

This in-office, contract-to-hire role offers a Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM schedule and a starting pay of $22–$24 per hour DOE with comprehensive benefits after conversion.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience within mental health or behavioral health OR a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Childhood Development, or a related field
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Compassion and professionalism when interacting with clients and families
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel
• Experience working with healthcare software is a plus
• DSP experience is a bonus
• Ability to work successfully within a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone calls and assist clients with questions
• Complete initial client screenings and intake processes
• Respond to emails and client inquiries
• Assist clients with forms, paperwork, and required documentation
• Maintain accurate files and administrative records
• Keep the waiting room welcoming, organized, and stocked
• Monitor office supplies and make sure the team has what they need
• Communicate with vendors when necessary
• Support therapists, interns, administrative staff, and leadership
• Assist with additional administrative responsibilities as needed
