Job summary

Vandelay Companies seeks a Host to deliver warm hospitality, welcome guests, and manage seating with attention to reservations, events, and walk-ins. You will support smooth front-of-house operations and guest satisfaction by staying informed on menu items, table layouts, and seating plans.

As the first and last impression of the dining experience, you will answer phone calls professionally, coordinate with servers and managers, and assist with guest inquiries and special requests.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Warm, positive attitude with responsibility and ownership.
• Excellent attention to detail and professional communication.
• Team-oriented with reliability and punctuality.
• Willingness to complete training on service standards and guest experience.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and guest moments.
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the restaurant.
• Certification for food handling as required by regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide concierge-level hospitality from arrival to departure.
• Build relationships with guests on a name-to-name basis.
• Strategize seating and dining flow using RESY and guest data.
• Maintain RESY database with notes and manage changes.
• Seat guests efficiently balancing experience and availability.
• Demonstrate menu knowledge and communicate clearly with staff.
• Answer calls with warmth and professionalism.
• Coordinate seating with servers and managers.
• Handle guest inquiries and special requests.
• Execute opening, mid-shift, closing, and side-work procedures.
