Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a Forklift Operator to join an excellent team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. We value safety, reliability and a friendly, outgoing attitude.

This role supports inbound and outbound flows, stack and stage materials, and collaborates with teammates to meet daily targets while maintaining accuracy and quality. This position runs Friday to Sunday, 6:00 pm–6:30 am, with a base rate of $20.00 per hour plus a $2.00 shift differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task.
• Flexible to work overtime.
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions.
• Regular, predictable attendance required.
• Complete Penske employment application and background check.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trailers with stand up electric clamp truck.
• Moves materials within the warehouse.
• Operates forklifts and scans products in the WMS.
• Maintains safety procedures at all times.
• Records items moved on daily production sheets or work tickets.
• Communicates with associates from other shifts and follows work orders.

Job Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trailers with a stand up electric clamp truck
• Move materials within the warehouse
• Complies with all safety requirements
• Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
• Quality control
• Ensure damaged products are identified and removed when received
• Communicate with associates from other shifts
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
• Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items
• Operate forklifts (stand up electric clamp truck)
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required
• Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers and time management skills required
• Flexible to work overtime preferred
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
• Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
