Job summary

Penske Logistics is hiring a Warehouse Associate in Shippensburg, PA. The role supports and supervises warehouse associates, trains new hires, and coordinates with Operations Supervisors to meet productivity targets.

Employees receive PTO, medical/dental/vision and life insurance, 401K, and associate discounts. The position requires forklift experience, strong safety compliance, and the ability to work a 6:00pm–6:00am Friday to Sunday shift.

Qualifications

• 4 years of warehouse experience required.
• 2 years inventory or materials management experience preferred.
• 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic computer skills with MS Office preferred and ability to learn proprietary software.

Responsibilities

• Primary trainer for Clamp Truck operators (new hires or retraining).
• Root cause investigations of product placement and Associate handling.
• Coach on process improvements after auditing associate processes.
• Provide project visibility to Operations Supervisor.
• Lead safety and wellbeing efforts on assigned shift.
• Load and unload trailers with a stand up electric clamp truck.
• Open and close dock doors and move materials within the warehouse.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and maintain a clean work area.
• Electronically scan products using the warehouse management system.

Position Summary:

Penske Logistics is looking for warehouse associates to become part of an excellent team. Provides support and some supervision to regular and temporary warehouse associate functions. Works closely with Operations Supervisors to ensure employee productivity expectations are met. Provides a variety of responsibilities to meet the supervisors expectations.

Position Details:

Friday to Sunday 6:00pm-6:00am

• $21.50 base rate + $2 shift differential

Job Responsibilities:

• Primary trainer for Clamp Truck operators (new hires or retraining)

• Can identify and audit associate processes and then coach on improvement
• Executes & provides process & project visibility to Operations Supervisor
• Expert in warehouse functions
• Leads & complies with Safety and Well Being efforts on assigned shift
• Loads and unloads trailers with a stand up electric clamp truck

• Ensure damaged products are identified and removed when received
• Communicate with associates from other shifts
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
• Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• 4 years of warehouse experience required
• 2 years of inventory or materials management experience preferred
• 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior forklift certification preferred
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint preferred
• Ability to learn and use proprietary software required
• Flexible to work overtime preferred
• Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions
• Ability to lead a small team, ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexibility required, excellent with numbers, time management, and ability to execute are required.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
