Job summary

Metropolitan Warehouse is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations, manage labor, scheduling, and training, and ensure accurate inventory control and safe handling of goods at our Houston location. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and adherence to set standards, with a focus on meeting outbound/inbound deadlines.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of supervisory experience, inventory control expertise, and familiarity with warehouse management systems;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years supervisory or warehouse lead experience.
• 2–3 years inventory control experience.
• Able to understand inventory processes.
• Furniture experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Good verbal and written communication.
• Ability to lead large groups in fast-paced environment.
• WMS experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs daily warehouse activities including labor, scheduling and supervision.
• Oversees inventory levels, monitors the safety of goods, and ensures the efficient usage of warehouse space.
• Supervises and provides training to all associates following Metropolitan’s set standards and quality guidelines for loading, unloading, packaging, scan discipline.
• Monitors and evaluates the safety of each Warehouse Associate on a daily basis. Trains on safety processes as needed.
• Leads daily stand up with Senior and Team Leads updating all warehouse associates with daily goals and tasks.
• Develops effective relationships with Warehouse Associates and provide strong leadership.
• Notifies Warehouse Manager of any Associate issues and tracks Associate’s attendance and performance.
• Assures all product is handled in a safe and professional manner.
• Assumes the Warehouse Manager’s responsibilities when the Warehouse Manager is absent.
• Meets all outbound and inbound load deadlines. Assures all loads are 100% complete with no partial orders shipped.
• Coordinates with other Shift Warehouse Supervisors, setting up the workload for next shift start.
• Minimizes Warehouse Associate OT.
• Walks the warehouse frequently to assure items are placed in correct location and scanned.
• Keeps warehouse clean and free of any trash or debris.
• Assures all unload and load reports are properly completed upon turn in.
• Assists with different warehouse duties as needed.
