Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor

Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations in a high-volume warehousing facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate handling of inbound, outbound, and claims processing activities. This role works closely with site leadership to manage staffing, drive continuous improvement, and maintain strong relationships with union-represented teams while meeting operational, quality, and safety objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, and claims processing, to ensure timely and accurate handling of parts.
  • Manage day-to-day PRC operations while maintaining strict controls over processes and procedures.
  • Lead an hourly team in daily operations, overseeing staffing issues such as attendance, vacation scheduling, daily assignments, and overtime coverage.
  • Cover crews in the absence of other supervisors to maintain consistent operational performance.
  • Attend and facilitate crew meetings, ensuring proper documentation is prepared, submitted, and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain work-related records, reports, and documentation as needed for operations, safety, and quality.
  • Schedule the workforce, including planning overtime and vacation, to meet business demands and maintain service levels.
  • Champion and lead continuous improvement initiatives to achieve best-in-class performance and improve overall operating metrics.
  • Develop and implement projects aimed at reducing budget expenses while maintaining or improving service and quality.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with UAW counterparts and union-represented employees.
  • Implement and promote a continuous improvement culture with hourly staff, encouraging ideas and participation in process enhancements.
  • Develop and lead safety initiatives to create and sustain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Actively participate in building and maintaining a safety culture that supports a zero-incident mindset.
  • Proactively address safety concerns in an expedient manner and ensure adherence to safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with salaried and hourly teams to improve safety culture, compliance, and engagement.
  • Maintain and develop strong quality procedures to ensure the facility operates at the highest levels of accuracy and reliability.
  • Drive process adherence and process improvement to enhance productivity, reduce error rates, and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure accurate application of national and local union contracts in daily operations and decision-making.
  • Provide direct supervision and training for GSR 6 supervisors, including mentoring and development support.
  • Maintain overall building organization and cleanliness to support safety, efficiency, and audit readiness.
  • Support grievance resolution processes and foster positive relationships with union representatives.
  • Monitor and influence key performance indicators such as building safety, error rate, denial rate, overtime percentage, absenteeism, vacation scheduling, grid time, on-time delivery, environmental responsibilities (ISO), LPMH, and customer satisfaction.
  • Hold employees accountable for performance, safety, and adherence to established processes and standards.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by working rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as business needs require.
  • Support and participate in initiatives related to smart redesign and organizational changes as the operation grows and evolves.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 1+ years of previous supervision experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar operational environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Proven leadership capability with demonstrated examples of leading teams and driving results.
  • Experience supervising or leading hourly teams, including managing attendance, scheduling, and performance.
  • Strong knowledge of or ability to learn warehouse management systems and enterprise systems, including SAP and EWM.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey expectations and provide feedback.
  • Ability to interpret data, evaluate actions, and reach logical conclusions independently.
  • Goal-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving operational metrics and continuous improvement.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience in a UAW or high-volume center (HVC) environment is preferred.
  • Experience building positive relationships with union-represented teams and UAW counterparts.
  • Familiarity with ISO and environmental responsibilities in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
  • Experience managing key operational metrics such as error rate, denial rate, overtime percentage, absenteeism, vacation scheduling, grid time, on-time delivery, LPMH, and process adherence.
  • Experience in warehouse management, including inbound, outbound, and claims processing operations.
  • Extensive in safety leadership, including developing and leading safety initiatives and promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Experience with grievance resolution and accurate application of national and local union contracts.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring other supervisors, including providing coaching and development.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain building organization and cleanliness in a complex warehousing environment.
  • Interest in and willingness to work their way up within a company, demonstrating long-term commitment and growth mindset.
  • Comfort working in a facility that includes sheet metal operations, standard warehousing, and dock operations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment undergoing smart redesign and rapid growth.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehousing facility that manages aftermarket parts, which are received, stored, and shipped to dealerships across the country. The operation includes a sheet metal area, a standard warehousing operation, and a dock operation that interfaces with all parts of the facility for inbound and outbound shipments. The facility runs two shifts, with current operational hours from 6:00 AM until 1:30 AM, and requires shift flexibility, including the possibility of rotating shifts, weekend work, and overtime as business needs dictate. Safety is the top priority in this environment; safety vests and safety glasses must be worn at all times while on the warehouse floor, and employees are expected to actively support and follow all safety guidelines. The role involves working closely with both salaried and hourly teams in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment that relies on systems such as SAP and EWM, and emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and adherence to established processes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.38 - $32.44/hr.
