Job Description
The Mechanical Assembler performs mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies and large components, working both independently and as part of a team to complete OEM assemblies. This role involves reading and following entry-level blueprints, shop orders, specifications, and other manufacturing instructions to accurately build and assemble parts and equipment in a timely manner. The Mechanical Assembler measures parts using precision tools and utilizes overhead cranes and rigging procedures to safely handle and position components.
Responsibilities
Perform mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies, mid-assemblies, and large components according to production requirements.
Work independently and in teams within designated work areas to complete OEM assemblies efficiently and accurately.
Read and follow entry-level blueprints, 2D and 3D prints, shop orders, specifications, and other manufacturing instructions to assemble parts and equipment.
Measure parts accurately using scales, micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools to ensure proper fit and alignment.
Utilize overhead cranes and rigging procedures to safely move, lift, and position components during the assembly process.
Use hand tools and power tools, including drill presses, band saws, and cut-off saws, to perform machining and assembly tasks as needed.
Interpret and work from schematics related to electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems during machine building activities.
Assemble and integrate electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components into complete machine builds following established standards.
Maintain and use personal tools required for assembly work, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Apply basic mathematical skills, including metric conversions, to measure, calculate, and verify dimensions and tolerances.
Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and other employees using good oral and written communication skills.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines when using rigging equipment, overhead cranes, hand tools, power tools, and machine tools.
Contribute to a clean, organized, and well-lit work area to support efficient and safe assembly operations.
Collaborate with team members to resolve assembly issues and ensure that equipment is built to quality and performance standards.
Demonstrate the ability to work with limited training by taking initiative and applying existing skills to new tasks and equipment.
Essential Skills
Ability to perform mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies, mid-assemblies, and large components.

Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as scales, micrometers, and calipers to measure parts accurately.

Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools used in assembly and machine building.
Ability to use machine tools such as drill press, band saw, and cut-off saw in support of assembly tasks.
Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and metric system conversions.
Ability to work independently with limited training, as well as effectively within a team environment.
Good oral and written communication skills to interact with employees and document work as needed.
Ability to read and assemble electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components from prints and schematics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Education generally equivalent to a High School diploma.
Experience in electro-mechanical assembly and machine building.
Familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics in an assembly or manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and assemble both sub-assemblies and mid-assemblies from 2D and 3D prints.
Experience working with rigging equipment in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Ownership of a personal set of tools suitable for mechanical assembly work.
Ability to adapt to newly engineered equipment and evolving assembly processes.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to building equipment to quality standards.
Demonstrated reliability and initiative in previous assembly or manufacturing roles.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
