Position Purpose

Responsible for supervising the shipping/receiving functions of all outgoing/incoming products from the warehouse. Leads and controls activities of company warehouse personnel. Front line supervision is an extremely important function for the company; positive interaction with employees is critical to ensure work is completed on time, efficiently, and accurately. Ensures shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution are performed efficiently, takes precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss, retains and reviews warehouse documents and reports, and conducts warehouse operations in accordance with established procedures and policies. Keeps management informed of warehouse activities and supports area personnel as required.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties
  1. Provides direction and motivation to leads and line employees to ensure daily workload is completed efficiently and cost-effectively.
  2. Maintains a positive presence on the floor throughout the shift.
  3. Supervises all warehouse functions.
  4. Completes appropriate paperwork and reports as required.
  5. Provides training for new hires and follows up as needed.
  6. Performs job evaluations and communicates results to employees.
  7. Evaluates work performance regarding promotions, absenteeism, commendations, and disciplinary actions.
  8. Communicates with management and other departments to ensure goals are met.
  9. Maintains a safe, clean work environment and is knowledgeable of emergency procedures.
  10. Performs duties in accordance with HACCP and SQF policies where applicable.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

  • Efficient and effective warehouse receiving and delivery processes.
  • Controlled and accurately recorded inventory levels.
  • Current and accurate documents, records, and files.
  • Following safety regulations and procedures.
  • Professional relations with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Management is informed of activities and significant problems.
Qualifications

Education/Certification: Associates Degree or equivalent experience.

Required Knowledge: Basic purchasing, inventory procedures, computer applications, courier and mailing functions.

Experience Required: Three or more years of related progressive experience.

Skills/Abilities: Leadership, team coordination, problem-solving, equipment operation, attention to detail, communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office.
