Job summary

Palmer Logistics is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor in Houston to oversee daily warehouse operations. You will supervise floor staff, coordinate picking, packing, sorting, and inventory, while operating a sit-down forklift and using RF scanners to route shipments correctly.

The role requires 4–6 years in logistics with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity, plus strong organizational and safety skills. This position is on-site and involves early morning shifts with weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years' experience in logistics environment; minimum 2 years in a supervisor role.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong problem-solving skills under time constraints.
• Professional communication, good written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and scheduling of all distribution services to meet customer requirements efficiently.
• Organize incoming shipments and direct items to correct destination bins per scanner instructions.
• Keep floor teams moving, resolve minor issues, ensure safety and organization.
• Track time/absences in management systems and support adherence to procedures.
• Oversee adherence to warehouse policies and safety protocols.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and operate forklift safely as required.

Position Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the physical processing of inventory while helping coordinate daily floor tasks, keeping the warehouse moving efficiently through hands-on picking, packing, and sorting, alongside occasional forklift operation, and inventory of products, ensuring procedures are followed and customer requirements are met, and the security of the warehouse and the supervision of personnel.

Schedule:

Early Morning Schedule; 6 hours a day; 3 Days One Week/4 Days Next Week with rotating weekends. Schedule may update as operationally needed.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and scheduling of all distribution services including sorting, retrieving, maintaining inventory and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met in an efficient manner.
• Participate in the selection of temp employees and testing operator skillset if needed by following Company guidelines.
• You will organize incoming parcel shipments into their correct destination bins according to digital scanner instructions.
• You will keep the floor associates moving efficiently, resolve minor scanning or sorting issues, and ensure the work area stays safe and organized.
• Assist management in the time management system by updating employee absences, missed punches, errors and other time requirements.
• Assist management in ensuring warehouse personnel follow established procedures or policies.
• Observe and address any warehouse health and safety concerns immediately by notifying the Site Manager or Safety Coordinator/Manager if required.
• Assist in maintaining inventory.
• Operate forklift and other material handling equipment safely following all procedures and policies.

Qualifications:

• 4-6 years' experience in logistics environment, at least 2 years of supervisor experience, familiar with use of RF Scanners
• Able to meet deadlines
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure and time constraints while problem solving.
• Forklift experience (Sit-down)
• Able to lift up to 50lbs and adjust body to bend, push, pull, stretch, stand, stoop, squat and grab, walking and sitting for extended periods
• Ability to work extended hours, weekends and holidays if needed.
• High School Diploma or GED; College degree in Logistics, Business or related field is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
