Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Receiving Supervisor to plan, coordinate, and oversee the receiving and distribution of merchandise in our Olive Branch facility. You will ensure safety, productivity, and accuracy in all receiving activities, while guiding a team of associates.

Your responsibilities include maintaining equipment readiness, supervising staff, and resolving discrepancies with accounting, with a strong focus on compliance and workplace organization.

Qualifications

• Must ensure receiving associates can safely operate material handling equipment.
• Safety and compliance practices must meet DOT and OSHA standards.
• Must maintain and administer 5S warehouse principles.
• Must be able to lead and supervise receiving agents and associates.
• Must be able to counsel, record, and discipline receiving associates as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and monitor receiving and distribution of merchandise from suppliers.
• Maintain high receiving productivity and efficiency.
• Maintain staffing levels for the receiving mission.
• Plan and coordinate work; train, motivate, monitor, and evaluate receiving associates.
• Develop crew leaders to oversee assigned crew members.
• Maintain equipment levels and structure for safe, effective receiving operations.
• Monitor merchandise unloading, staging, receiving reports, shipment completeness, and shipment condition.
• Resolve discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
• Monitor paperwork flow from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry.
• Measure receiving performance and locator and receiving-report accuracy.
• Prepare bills of lading for outgoing shipments.
• Lead and supervise receiving agents.
• Counsel, record, and discipline associates as necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the receiving department.
• Direct shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to storage and work areas.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
