This person will be a member of an operation crew charged with responsibility for safely and effectively operating a loading and unloading facility.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform the duties of an outside operator in a daily operational shift environment, including overtime, holiday, weekends, and nights.
2. Possess a detailed, and up-to-date, working knowledge of all equipment and operations.
3. Control the operation of the facility in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with all environmental permits and safety regulations at all times.
4. Perform truck loading and unloading activities regularly.
5. Support railcar unloading activities as required, including connecting/disconnecting railcars, opening manways, and inspecting railcars.
6. Communicate effectively with supervisory and facility personnel about equipment conditions and performance, and suggest improvements.
7. Correct abnormal conditions by taking appropriate corrective actions.
8. Monitor all facility equipment hourly, ensure safe operations, and record status updates in the shift log.
9. Communicate pertinent activities to the operation manager on duty.
10. Complete all required forms for the shift.
11. Maintain a clean, organized work area.
12. Maintain professional communication and attitude with all personnel.
13. Attend and complete all required trainings and safety meetings.
14. Perform all other assigned duties, including general labor work as needed to maintain safety.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Knowledge of safety regulations.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to respond in emergency situations.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Attention to detail, stress management, analytical thinking, and teamwork skills.

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to speak, read, and write English, and possess basic math skills. Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds. Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, operate a forklift, and work in elevated areas. Must adhere to OSHA and company PPE policies. Willingness to support all safety and environmental policies, including drug testing. Residency within 60 minutes of the facility or willingness to relocate is required.
