Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Commodities Assistant Supervisor in Detroit to support the Production Supervisor in guiding warehouse staff and production processes. You will help manage budgeting, cost efficiency, and production workloads while ensuring safety and policy compliance.

Responsibilities include supervising daily production, coordinating purchasing, maintaining inventory accuracy, and leading staff development to meet goals in a demanding warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of management experience in production scheduling, supervision, recruiting, and team leadership.
• Experience in warehouse, production, logistics, recycling, commodities, or related operations preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production within the warehouse, including baling and compacting.
• Support budgeting, cost management, and profitability of production activities.
• Coordinate purchasing of production supplies and monitor inventory accuracy.
• Ensure OSHA safety guidelines and TSA policies are followed across the operation.
• Lead recruitment, training, and performance management of production staff.
