Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC is hiring a warehouse custodian/janitor for the first shift in the North East MD area. You will keep the facility clean, safe, and organized, supporting our distribution operations and ensuring a quality environment for coworkers and products.

The role requires physical stamina, adherence to safety rules, and willingness to work a fast-paced, multi-level facility with pallet jack use. Training and benefits start from day one.

Qualifications

• Attendance required for all shifts.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrates initiative and a safety-conscious mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment as custodian/janitor.
• Clean warehouse, office space, break areas, windows and restrooms.
• Perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors.
• Move product with pallet jack and assist with cleaning.
• Handle spills and dispose of waste properly.
• Follow all material handling equipment SOPs.
• Lift varying case weights safely as required.
• Adhere to all safety procedures at all times.

• - 1st shift: 9 am start - until finished

Job Description

You will contribute by:

• - Providing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment by acting as a custodian / janitor
• - Performing janitorial duties such as cleaning the entire warehouse, including office space, employee break areas, windows and restrooms
• - Maintaining good housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors
• - Occasionally pulling product out of pick slots using an electric pallet jack to clean with a scrubber and returning product
• - Tending to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc.
• - Collecting plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes to be disposed of properly
• - Following all material handling equipment safe operating procedures
• - Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels
• - Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures

• - Continually Standing, bending, pulling, lifting, pivoting up to 90% of shift
• - Walking on various surfaces including concrete, tile, carpet, etc.
• - Frequently lifting of product weighing between 1 - 60 lbs. or more

• - Possibility of working on multiple levels of varying height
• - Safe handling of sharp objects including box cutting tools
