Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC is hiring a custodian/janitor for the Windsor Locks facility. You will perform cleaning across warehouse and office spaces, maintain floors, and handle spills in a fast-paced environment.

The role runs on the 1st shift, Sunday through Friday with a 8:00 AM–6:30 PM schedule. Paid training, weekly pay, and benefits from day one are offered at C&S.

Qualifications

• Attendance required.
• General Equivalency Diploma or High School Diploma preferred.
• Demonstrates initiative, productivity, quality and safety values.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a clean and safe work environment as custodian/janitor.
• Clean the warehouse, offices, break areas, windows and restrooms.
• Maintain housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors.
• Move products using pallet jack to assist with cleaning as needed.
• Tend to spills and damaged product; ensure safe handling of materials.

Job Description

Earn $19.00 per hour

Shift - 1st

Sunday, Monday,-Tuesday, Friday - 8AM - 6:30PM

Location - 500 North Street, Windsor Locks, CT 06096

You will contribute by:

• Providing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment by acting as a custodian / janitor
• Performing janitorial duties such as cleaning the entire warehouse, including office space, employee break areas, windows and restrooms
• Maintaining good housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors
• Occasionally pulling product out of pick slots using an electric pallet jack to clean with a scrubber and returning product
• Tending to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc.
• Collecting plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes to be disposed of properly
• Following all material handling equipment safe operating procedures
• Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels
• Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures

• Continually Standing, bending, pulling, lifting, pivoting up to 90% of shift
• Walking on various surfaces including concrete, tile, carpet, etc.
• Frequently lifting of product weighing between 1 - 60 lbs. or more
• Frequent lifting of product ranging from floor to overhead
• Possibility of working on multiple levels of varying height
• Safe handling of sharp objects including box cutting tools
