Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC is hiring a custodian/janitor for our Aberdeen, MD facility. You will keep the warehouse and offices clean, maintain floors, and ensure a safe, organized environment to support high-quality product delivery. This is a full-time day-shift position with competitive pay and benefits.

Earn $17 per hour with a $2 per hour freezer differential. Benefits start from day 1, including medical, dental, vision, and 401k, plus PTO and holiday pay.

Qualifications

• Attendance and a basic educational credential (GED/HS Diploma) required.
• Initiative, reliability, and a commitment to quality and safety are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a clean and safe work environment as a custodian/janitor.
• Clean the warehouse, offices, break areas, windows and restrooms.
• Maintain good housekeeping: sweep, mop, vacuum, buff, wax floors.
• Operate pallet jack and assist with product handling for cleaning.
• Handle spills and dispose of waste properly.
• Follow material handling equipment safety procedures.
• Occasionally lift varying weights and heights as needed.
• Adhere to all safety and operational guidelines.

Position Overview

Job Description

You will contribute by:

• Providing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment by acting as a custodian / janitor
• Performing janitorial duties such as cleaning the entire warehouse, including office space, employee break areas, windows and restrooms
• Maintaining good housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors
• Occasionally pulling product out of pick slots using an electric pallet jack to clean with a scrubber and returning product
• Tending to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc.
• Collecting plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes to be disposed of properly
• Following all material handling equipment safe operating procedures
• Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels
• Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures

• Continually Standing, bending, pulling, lifting, pivoting up to 90% of shift
• Walking on various surfaces including concrete, tile, carpet, etc.
• Frequently lifting of product weighing between 1 - 60 lbs. or more
• Frequent lifting of product ranging from floor to overhead
• Possibility of working on multiple levels of varying height
• Safe handling of sharp objects including box cutting tools
