Job summary

Performance Foodservice, PFG's broadline distributor, hires for a warehouse order picker to assemble customer orders from multi-level racks. You will use electric pallet jacks, wrap and label pallets, and move shipments to the loading dock, all while meeting safety and quality standards.

The role demands physical work, shifts with overtime, and the ability to operate in dry, cooler, and freezer environments.

Qualifications

• Ability to work scheduled/assigned shifts, including required overtime.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, stack, and/or pull product weighing 10-35 lbs. regularly and up to approximately 60-100 lbs. (location dependent)
• Ability to work in multi-temperature environments (dry, cooler, freezer)
• Ability to pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check
• Ability to become EPJ certified within the new-hire training period
• Ability to complete required training independently.

Responsibilities

• Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines.
• Review work schedule, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations. Perform a safety check on pallet jack/forklift to be used and insure that all other safety devices are functioning properly.
• Meet required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.
• Place pallets on pallet jack and operate along assigned multi-level racks and locate products according to order sheets.
• Manually place the appropriate stock items on pallet from pick slots and racks as required.
• Transport completed palletized customer order to shipping dock staging area. May be required to shrink-wrap pallet for staging.
• Remove batteries requiring recharging, replace with charged batteries, or attach re-charger and complete vehicle inspection checklist.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
